The works for this project included demolition of the interior of the wing, only leaving the shell of the wing. All new walls were constructed that divided up the building making it more private and modern. New structural steel and lentils were installed to open up the new waiting room. All new nurse call points, data, wall and floor lining, doors, joinery units, false ceiling and HVAC was installed. The switch board and fire systems were also upgraded. This has brought the medical centre up to date for the needs of the New Zealand Defence Force.

As the Army camp have strict security measures, all subcontractors had to be inducted by Spotless in the Watts & Hughes office before they were allowed to go on site. We managed to work this around the programme so that there was no loss time. All subcontractors and W&H staff members were all thoroughly police checked before being allowed on site.

The Army have very strict standards and these were followed throughout the whole construction process. The Army are thrilled with the new upgrade to their medical centre.
