Fred Price Courts is a social housing complex owned by the Christchurch City Council consisting of 37 residential units. Each residential unit is a single storey, timber framed structure with Summerhill stone cladding and a timber trussed roof cover with concrete tiles. All timber stud walls are lined with gib board and external timber walls have a timber diagonal brace.
The residential units at Fred Price project suffered minor to moderate damage to non-structural elements during the 2010 / 2011 earthquakes.
The scope of works consisted of earthquake and essential repairs including remedial repair works to wall cracks and opened wall joints, repoint and replace where needed all concrete tile roofing, re-gib, painting, electrical test and replacement, plumbing check and replacement, new floor coverings, new roofing iron, exterior brick and block work, asbestos tests and removal, methamphetamine testing, exterior painting and hard landscaping works.
The works commenced in February 2017 and were completed over 5 stages and received individual practical completion certificates for each stage. The final works were completed early in November 2017.
