MPI Hamilton New Office Development
We are currently delivering a comprehensive commercial office refurbishment for the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) at the Ruakura Research Centre in Hamilton. The project involves the redevelopment of approximately 590m² of office accommodation across Levels 2 and 3 of the Tower Block, transforming an existing workspace into a modern, functional and collaborative environment for MPI's Hamilton-based team.
Working within an occupied research campus environment, the project includes the demolition of existing office infrastructure and the complete refurbishment of both floors to create a contemporary workplace that supports flexible working, staff wellbeing, collaboration and operational efficiency. The new layout incorporates open-plan office areas, meeting rooms, boardrooms, focus rooms, consultation and interview spaces, collaborative work areas, breakout facilities, utility spaces, storage areas and accessible amenities.
Scope of Works:
●Full internal demolition and refurbishment works.
●Construction of new partitions, glazing systems and acoustic-rated spaces.
●Installation of bespoke joinery, kitchen and utility areas.
●Upgraded accessible bathroom and shower facilities.
●New floor, wall and ceiling finishes throughout.
●Electrical, power and data fit-out coordination.
●Plumbing and drainage upgrades.
●Passive fire protection and building compliance works.
●Coordination with specialist contractors for HVAC, security and IT integration.
The completed facility will accommodate more than 45 workstations across two floors, supported by dedicated collaboration hubs, breakout spaces, meeting environments and staff wellness amenities. Particular attention has been given to accessibility, acoustic performance, workplace flexibility and long-term durability, ensuring the facility meets the operational needs of a modern government agency.
