Site Manager – Christchurch Region

Watts & Hughes is a respected and expanding national main contractor who has a range of projects pending in the South Island and are looking for a site manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a Site Manager that is looking to take the next step in their career. We are seeking a Site Manager with experience in both commercial and residential sectors.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

– Programme of projects for tme and resource

– Client & Subcontractor liaison

– Plan and establish efficent health & safety systems on site

– Attending site meetings

– Ensure construction work meets all requirements, and is done on time

– Keep records of staff and materials

– Work with the Quantity Surveyor to maintain budgets

– Consult with council


What we are looking for:

– A minimum of five years relevant commercial experience

– A degree or trade qualification

– A positive can-do attitude

– Strong Communication Skills

– An excellent understanding of NZ construction practices

Quantity Surveyor – Christchurch Region

Watts & Hughes are looking for an experience Quantity Surveyor in the Christchurch region, who has worked as a Quantity Surveyor in NZ commercial building market at least 5 years.


You will have proven experience in delivering a quality product and provide a service on time and within the set budgets and you will be proactive in helping others to succeed.


Ideally you will have experience in the following:

– Experience at estimating and pricing contracts

– Strong customer service focus

– Good negotiation skills

– Relevant Quantity Surveyor qualification

– Commercial experience

– High level of computer literacy


Duties include, but are not limited to:

– Regular reporting

– Managing subcontractors / customer relationships

– Preparation of subcontract conditions of contract

– Report on financials

– Contractual advice

– Business development

– Close liaison with site/project leadership teams

– Project conclusion and final accounting

– Interacting & communication effectively in the construction contracting environment
