The BMW Mini Showroom project consisted of the refurbishment of an existing two storey building at 106 Moorhouse Avenue, Christchurch into a BMW and Mini Showroom.

The alterations to the building included enhancing the building appearance, providing vehicle access to the first floor, seismic strengthening, fire rating and forming a new BMW / Mini Car dealership including a full servicing garage. There is also a separate tenancy which has been incorporated into the upgrade works

The first floor has been divided into three main areas being car storage, car showroom and other tenancy. This was carried out by constructing fire rated walls with passive fire protection to the new and existing structure. Fire rated doors and a new roller door have been installed within the building’s façade to allow vehicles to access the first floor from the new external ramp. The existing toilets and lunch room remained untouched by the alterations. The existing suspended ceiling was repaired and reinstated, new floor coverings including carpet tiles, ceramic tiles and trafficable paint installed. Aluminium and glass meeting room and office fronts have been installed with a frameless glass barrier overlooking the runway showroom.

The ground floor has been divided into two show rooms, offices, a parts store and car service area. There have been over 1100m2 of floor tiles laid and 1000m2 of trafficable paint installed., A purposely constructed wash bay, 11 car hoists, exhaust extract systems, air, water and oil services in the car workshop including 3 roller doors for entry have also been added to the facility. A lowered feature ceiling was installed in the Runway showroom.
