Watts & Hughes were engaged to carry out the construction of a food beverage and retail complex in the Bombay Hills South of Auckland.
The building has an overall floor area of 920m2 with 6 tenancies. Key tenants in this building currently are St Pierre Sushi and Coffee Club. The building also contains a central food court/dining area for use from multiple tenancies. The buildings structure was constructed with precast panel exterior a raft floor design and structural steel portals. The external envelope was finished with timber framing Alucabond claddings and vertical Sculptform battens. The internal fit-out was of a basic construction to allow for tenants to fit out, and consisted of staff toilets, kitchenettes and suspended grid and tile ceilings.
The project had its challenges with the building owners requesting numerous design changes throughout the project, however the building was completed to a high-quality standard and on time.
