The refurbishment of the Woolworths Dunedin South Store involved extensive upgrades across multiple areas. This included the installation of new walls, painting, floor coverings, tiling, and electrical improvements throughout the main retail space, bakery, wine & beer, fish and deli, and mezzanine staff areas. Additionally, a new pharmacy was constructed within the main store.

The project also featured the construction of a new courier bay, comprising a structural concrete foundation, steel canopy structure, and goods hoist, along with the installation of delivery yard fencing, two automatic sliding gates, and barriers.

To minimise disruption to store staff and customers, all internal alteration works were carried out overnight, outside of trading hours, while the store remained operational throughout the project.
